Rose Althea Ceballos

Rose Althea Ceballos (nee O’Keane) of Webster Groves died peacefully at her home on Monday, December 15, 2014. She was 78.
Mrs. Ceballos was born on November 3, 1936 to William and Violet (Ruder) O’Keane. She attended Goodall Elementary School and Webster Groves Junior/Senior High School, receiving her diploma in 1954. She lived in Biloxi, Mississippi for a short time after high school before returning to St. Louis. In 1964 she purchased the house in Webster Groves in which she would reside for the rest of her life. She was known in her neighborhood for her festive outdoor Christmas light displays and the Christmas Village collection that filled her dining room each holiday season. Each Spring she nurtured colorful flower beds throughout her yard. She was a caring and concerned neighbor, always willing to help out in any way she could.
Mrs. Ceballos was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Donald and Robert. She is survived by her brother Forrest; her children Earle (Gina), Elaine, Kevin, and Forrest (Marina); her grandchildren Amanda, Jaime (Bill), Jeremy, Austen, Justin, Makenzie, Matthew, and Olivia; and her beloved dog Callie. She was a generous and beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, coworker, and friend to many.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 10, at 2pm, at the Webster Groves Recreation Complex, 33 East Glendale in Webster Groves. Family members will begin greeting guests at 1:30pm. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Animal Protective Association of Missouri.
