Ross Ackerson, age 65, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026, following a short and courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Ross was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 15, 1961, the son of Owen and Janet Ackerson. He is preceded in death by his father, Owen, and his sister, Renée Ackerson. He is survived by his devoted wife of 40 years, Melinda (Mindy), and their sons, Jared (Lauren) and Dalton (Madi). Ross was a proud grandfather to Olive, Phoebe, and Jared Jr. (JJ), all of whom he deeply loved and cherished. He is also survived by his mother, Janet Ackerson of Peculiar, Missouri; his brothers Chris Ackerson (Jann) of Edwardsville, Kansas, and Mark Ackerson (Donna) of Peculiar, Missouri; and his dear brothers‑ and sisters‑in‑law Michael and Diana Jones, Mark and Cyndie Jones, and Melissa and Kevin O’Toole. He leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends whose lives he touched.

Ross found great joy in spending time with family and friends. He loved golfing, hunting, fishing, sports and relaxing at the family’s lake house at Tishomingo. A loyal Kansas City Chiefs fan and enthusiastic supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues, he especially enjoyed watching games with his sons. Ross valued the importance of strong friendships and meaningful business relationships. He took immense pride in his family and in Air Solutions, Inc., the company he and Mindy built together. Ross will be remembered for his kindness, integrity and the lasting impact he made on those around him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 21 at Helen Fitzgerald’s Restaurant, 3650 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63127 from 2:00-5:00 pm (see attached).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to a ministry Ross and Mindy were involved with through their church. The Weekend Food Bag ministry (WFB) is dedicated to addressing childhood hunger by providing weekly bags of food to young children identified as food deprived by their teachers. For over 15 years, this ministry has supported elementary students in the Mehlville School District, and this year alone, will hand out over 4,000 food bags. WFB relies on generous private donations to continue this important work. Memorial donations can be made by check payable to Faith Lutheran Church, 6101 Telegraph Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129.  Please add WFB in the memo.

Ross was a friend to anyone he met and was always willing to help anyone in need. His joy of spending time with family and friends and his contagious laughter will be remembered and treasured forever. May God comfort his family and friends until we are reunited through grace, in Heaven. We are grateful for our friendship.

Ross was a great person, and a wonderful brother in-law. Always treated me with such kindness. He was so smart, always helping his family, and he was just fun to be around. We went on many trips with Ross and Mindy. We always had the best time together. I will miss those times and cherish them. One of my fondest memories was when I married to Ross’s brother, Mark. Mark and I decided just the two of us would get married in Jamaica. A few days before our wedding, we were walking down the beach. We saw another couple approaching us. I said to Mark, “That woman looks like Mindy,” and Mark said, “the guy looks like Ross.” As we got closer, we both said, “That is Ross and Mindy!” They flew down to surprise us, and boy did they! It couldn’t have worked out better. Ross was Mark’s best man and Mindy was my maid of honor! It made our wedding so much more special. They really pulled off!

I will miss you brother. Love, Donna
