Ruth Marie Szurley (nee Greenwood) passed away peacefully at 12:45am on May 1, 2025, at the age of 97.  She was born on April 6, 1928 in Elizabeth, NJ.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Gustave Szurley; her sisters, Ginny and Fran; and her brother, George.

Ruth will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Edith  (Alexis) Grabbe of O’Fallon, MO and Irene Laney (Mark) of Larmone, ME; grandsons, Patrick Grabbe of Kansas City, Kevin Grabbe of Lake City, AR, and Mark Laney of Florida, and her many friends at the Landings in O’Fallon.

Ruth was a library aide for 23 years at Ben Franklin Elementary in Edison, NJ.  She loved nature, singing, and music.  She was very adventurous, was a fried to all she met, and was appreciative to all.

A Memorial Service will be held on August 2, 2025 in Boothbay Harbour, ME.
