Ruth A Pickett, of Wentzville, MO, went to Heaven Monday, April 7, 2014 at the age of 73.
Dear daughter of Kenneth and Edith (Sherman) Fix. Devoted mother of Tammy (Pickett) Brooks, John Brooks, Ray Pickett, Lisa (Scharfinski) Pickett, and Dan Pickett. Loving Grandmother to Chris Brooks, Michelle (Wright) Brooks, Eric Brooks, Kelly Brooks, Kenneth Pickett, and Christina Pickett. Proud Greatgrandmother to Parker Lynn Brooks. She is survived by a host of very close friends and her beloved dog Sam.
She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Sandra Moseler.
Ruth cherished her family. She adored spending time with her children, grandchildren, sister, nieces, and nephews.
Her friends meant the world to her. She had a soft spot for animals, especially her canine companion, Sam. Thrift-store shopping, cooking, watching movies, and going to breakfast after church were some of her favorite things to do. She will always be remembered by her beautiful smile, her loving words of encourgment, her compassion, and her servant’s heart as she was always wanting to serve others. She genuinely cared about everyone she met.
Memorials may be made to Five Acres Animal Shelter in St. Charles, Missouri.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 10th.
I remember Ruth from Wellston HS. I was in class of 60 and she was ahead of me. Seems she was good at sports and a very nice lady. God bless her family.
Ruth Ann and I were wonderful friends when we were growing up on Derby in the 1940.s. She was either at my house or I was at hers. She was a beautiful little girl, fun, and so sweet.
I saw her at our class reunions through the years. At the last reunion I could see her health was failing. We had a good visit and the last thing I said to her was “I love you Ruth” she said “I love you Bonnie.
What a beautiful friend she was.
My sister (Janice Iten Lyall) and brother (Al Iten) lived right across the street from your mother. We girls were even over at her house on the corner to play many times. She graduated from high school the same year I did. Know you will miss her. We have many good memories.
The most beautiful woman ever.
