With hearts filled with love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we celebrate the life and legacy of Sachiko Kataumi Simmons, who peacefully departed this life on July 15, 2026, in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her devoted son and faithful caregiver, Ronald Simmons, and her beloved daughter-in-law, Pam Webb Simmons.

Sachiko was born on June 18, 1932, in Tokyo, Japan, where she was educated and spent her early years. She carried with her the rich traditions, values, and culture of her homeland throughout her life. While in Japan, Sachiko met the love of her life, Albert Simmons Jr. Their marriage was a beautiful union built on love, commitment, and family. Together they welcomed three children: Ronald Simmons, Arlene Simmons-Stocking, and Elbert Simmons. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother whose greatest joy was caring for her family.

Her three children were the center of her world and the very purpose of her life. Everything Sachiko did was motivated by her unconditional love for them and her desire to see them happy, fulfilled, and surrounded by love. Nothing brought her greater joy than seeing smiles on their faces and knowing they were living meaningful and fulfilling lives. Her sacrifices were made without hesitation, and her love was given without measure. The values she instilled—kindness, perseverance, compassion, and devotion to family—will continue to guide generations to come.

Sachiko dedicated her professional life to serving others as a nurse’s aide. Her compassion, patience, and gentle spirit made her a blessing to those she cared for. She approached every day with kindness, humility, and a servant’s heart.

Outside of her career, Sachiko found joy in gardening, dancing, and preparing authentic Japanese cuisine, lovingly sharing her heritage with those she loved.

For many years, she made her home in University City, Missouri, where she raised her family and created a home filled with warmth, laughter, delicious meals, and lasting memories. Her quiet strength, unwavering love, and gentle presence will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Albert Simmons Jr., and her son-in-law, James.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories of her loving children: Ronald (Pam) Simmons, Arlene Simmons-Stocking, and Elbert (Cynthia) Simmons. Her beloved grandchildren: Darelle Simmons, Marco Tipton, Brittany Strickland, and Shawn Watson.

Her legacy continues through her treasured great-grandchildren: Darelle Jr., Aiko, Atari, Leah, Nova, Marco Jr., Malia, Mia, Amari, Chase, Brooklyn, Terrance, Sariah, Shawn Jr., and Savanna.

She is also lovingly remembered by her family in Japan, along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Although our hearts are saddened by her passing, we rejoice in knowing that her life was one of grace, compassion, resilience, and unconditional love. Her beautiful legacy will continue to live on through the generations she raised and inspired.
