1938 – 2023

Sandra Jo Cremeens, affectionately known as Sandy, passed away on June 8, 2023 at the age of 84 in Lake St. Louis, Missouri. She was born on November 19, 1938 in Oran, Missouri to Cecil and Opal Dennis. Sandy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who devoted her life to her family. She was kind, generous, and had a passion for politics, often watching the news with great interest.

Sandy retired from Schnucks Markets in 1999 after 29 years of service and was a proud member of UFCW Local 655. In her free time, she loved to read, play cards, and watch her favorite shows on PBS. Sandy and her husband Doug loved to travel and spend time in Florida. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and taking care of Gus, her loyal grand-dog.

Sandy is survived by her children Rhonda Dodson (Larry Steimann) and Susan (Jim) Bateman, as well as her grandchildren Shelly (John) Legate, Lori (Jason) Greisenauer, and Sara (Jacob) Evans. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren Peyton and Christopher Greisenauer, Carter and Gavin Legate, and Dyllan and Dodson Evans. Sandy is also survived by her sisters Betty Reich, Bonnie Knight, Judy Murrah, and Marty Adams, all of whom she loved dearly.

Sandy was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Douglas Cremeens, daughter Elizabeth Cremeens, parents Cecil and Opal Dennis, son-in-law Chris Dodson, and sister Ann Davis.

Burial will be private, and her life will be celebrated by family and friends at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org) or the St. Louis Area Foodbank (stlfoodbank.org).
