1938 – 2022

Shirley Pancer from Drake, MO, passed away on October 25, 2022 peacefully at home with her loving husband Don Pancer of 65 years.

Shirley was preceded in death by parents Walter and Caroline Fabry and siblings Elvera (Phil), Walter (Shirley), and Melvin (Sally).  She is survived by her children, Don (Jeanie), Laura (Bruce), Ron (Donna), Dona (Steve), and Sherry (Dave).  Shirley was blessed with 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.  She will be missed by family and friends.

Shirley attended grade and high school at St Francis de Sales in St Louis City.  She loved to play softball and was the pitcher.  She volunteered at St. George School as a gym teacher and a Librarian.  

After raising their family in Affton, MO, Shirley and Don moved to Drake.  She worked several years at First Bank in Owensville.  They both started the soccer program in Owensville in 1999.  Shirley and Don enjoyed retirement and the country life.

Shirley enjoyed quilting and was a long-time volunteer for Helping Hands Food Pantry.  She also sang in the choir at Immaculate Conception Church and St Gerald Church.  Shirley and Don loved to dance.  They were still dancing together in her final days.

Her body was cremated.  A memorial service will be held Monday, November 14, 10:00 am visit with family, and mass at 11:00, at St John Paul II Church (formerly St George Church), 4980 Heege Road, Affton MO 63123.  In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Alzheimer’s Association.

    What a sweet pic of her! I didn’t know she did all those things. She was a busy lady! I loved her and love the way Don took such good care of her all those years. God Bless you Don.

    Tony, So sorry for the loss of your Grandma.Met her and grandpa at your and Kristines wedding when they outdanced Uncle Joe and I for the longest couple married…hugs and prayers to you and family…
