Sonya Diane Stevens

Sonya Diane Stevens (Babydoll), age 43 of St. Louis, passed away on Monday, July 24, 2017. Sonya was born April 24, 1974 in Santa Clara, CA, the daughter of Patricia and Delbert Draisey and Ernie Hadzic.

Sonya graduated from Burlington-Edison High School in 1992. Following high school, she studied American Sign Language and to be a Dental Hygienist. She grew up spending summers traveling around California with her late grandparents, Howard and Mary Holman and her sisters Debbie, Denise, and Beth with Disneyland being her favorite destination. From a young age Sonya had a passion for performing, acting and singing. She enjoyed acting in plays such as ‘Oliver Twist’ and ‘Les Misérables’. Sonya always managed to light up the room with her dry humor and brutal honesty. Her faith and devotion to the lord was unwavering.

On March 20, 2005, Sonya married the love of her life, Tim Stevens. They later had three beautiful daughters; Anna, Catherine, and Evelyn. Family and friends were Sonya’s passion and delight and her daughters were the apple of her eye. She was so grateful that Tim provided her the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom so she could spend time with her kids. Anna loved it when her mom would sing to her and listen to music. Cate enjoyed baking cookies and reading. Evelyn loved to go shopping with her mom and watch movies.

Sonya is survived by her husband Tim, daughter’s Anna, Cate, and Evelyn, her mother Patricia, fathers Del and Ernie, her sisters Debbie, Denise, Beth, and brother Matt; 5 aunts and uncles and 14 nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and close friends.

Services will be held Saturday, July 29,2017 at The Journey Church; 2833 S. Kingshighway Blvd; St. Louis, MO 63139 with visitation from 9:00am-11:00am and memorial service from 11:00am-12:00pm.
