Sonya Kay Adams

March 6th, 1977 ~ January 7th, 2021

On January 7th, Sonya Kay (DeClue) Adams of Arnold, MO, passed away at the age of 43. She was born on March 6th, 1977 in Kirkwood, MO to parents Kelly and (late) David DeClue. She is survived by her husband, Jason; her children Michelle (25) and Stephanie (17); grandson Wesley; her mother Kelly DeClue; sister Ginny (Tim) Kappel; and nephews Will and Drew.

Sonya always said her greatest contribution to this world is her girls. She referred to Michelle Lynn as her little red lifesaver. Stephanie Kay is her ladybug. There was never a doubt how much Sonya loved her family. She was a beloved, wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin & friend. Despite all of life’s hardships, Sonya was a true fighter. Her contagious laugh, conversations for hours, and love for others will forever be missed. We are all so lucky to have her memory in our hearts.

Service arrangements: 10:00 am, January 21st, 2021 at Concord Church 13775 Tesson Ferry Rd. Saint Louis, MO 63128.

Many of you have reached out in ways you can help during this time. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to support Sonya’s final wishes. For donation information, please contact Kelly (mom) or Ginny (sister). For those of you who have already supported, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Sonya’s final resting place will be in Dawson Springs, KY, next to her grandparents Ma Jenny and Daddy J.

My sister, you beautiful soul. I already miss you with all of my heart. I’ve never met another person that was so proud to have a baby sister; thank you for that. At the end of each day, good or bad, whether we talked everyday or not for weeks, I felt your love. I really hope you are among the angels, I’m sure you’ll fit right in. I promise to be there for your girls, they’re mine too. I promise on our “sistership.” All my love, Ginny Lynn

My heart was saddened to hear of your passing. Ginny and I became good friends while she was living in Florida and always spoke so very highly of you. She adored you as a sister and as a mother to your girls. I pray for peace and comfort for your family. Fly high Sonya❤️

You were the kindest & sweetest person I ever met. Hearing the news you past still hasn’t sunk in. It doesn’t feel real at all and we all need you. You were a second mom to me. Anytime I needed a place to go I could show up no matter the day or time & im so grateful for all our times spent together. I’ll miss our late night talks and picking up Steph in the morning where I started all my days with your beautiful smile & that “I love you girls”. I promise to always be here for Stephanie and Michelle. I know they were your whole world! I love you so much and already miss you dearly. My head and heart hurts so badly since you’ve left us. Until we meet again beautiful angel. -Emmy❤️????
