Stanley “Stan” Croissant
Stanley W. (Stan) Croissant died peacefully on March 24, 2019 at the age of 83. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sharon (Anderson) Croissant, sons Bruce, Jeffrey, and Thanh Tang, daughters-in-law Susan and Charis and grandchildren Lauren, Maya, Andrew, and Jolie plus a host of special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erwin and Hilda Croissant, and by his beloved brother, Leighton Croissant. Stan was a Graduate of Purdue University (Bachelor of Science, Mechanical Engineering 1957) and Washington University (Master of Engineering Administration 1966) and could fix almost anything. He was an Elder and Deacon at First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood and joyously helped establish the church’s commitment to hands-on Mission. Working to build or rebuild homes for those in need in Guatemala, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, and Joplin were highlights of his post-retirement years. Known to his family as “SuperStan” he will be missed by those who had the honor of knowing him.
The family wishes to thank William G. Bowen, M.D. and his staff, the personnel of BJC Hospice and of Evelyn’s House for their care and concern for Stan.
A celebration of life will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood, 100 E. Adams, Kirkwood on Saturday, May 25 at 1 p.m. The service will be live-streamed at that time at www.kirkwoodpres.org. Memorials can be made to First Presbyterian Church of Kirkwood (Mission), The Maren Fund, 329 Way Ave., Kirkwood, MO 63122 (supporting Down Syndrome children and young adults) or the charity of one’s choice.
