Stanton Lee Stockton

20161110143139261_0001Stanton Lee Stockton, 64, of Centralia, Illinois passed into Heaven on October 6, 2016 following a prolonged but courageous battle with his combat diseases at the Doctors Nursing and Rehabilitation Care Center facility in Salem, Illinois. His death was attended by family. He was born June 20, 1952 in Maysville, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Patresa Owens Stockton, of Centralia.

Mr. Stockton was preceded in death by a son, Clifton Lee Stockton, formerly of Fairview Heights, Illinois, and his parents, Clayton and Cuma Stockton of Maysville, Missouri.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Stockton is survived by a daughter, Dayna Stockton Coker and husband Stan of Montgomery, Alabama, a daughter, Dynese Stockton Keith and husband Randy of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, a son, Derrick Stockton and wife Jennifer of Centralia, Illinois, three granddaughters, Tia Coker, Miranda Keith, Cailey Stockton of Carlyle, Illinois, a grandson, Michael Stockton, a sister, Meleea Williams of Florissant, Missouri, a bother, Shane Stockton of King City, Missouri, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Per Mr. Stockton’s request, a memorial funeral was held by his family in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to honor his life. Cremation was done by St. Louis Cremation. He particularly requested for his son, Derrick Stockton, to privately spread his ashes at family farms in Berlin and Fairport, Missouri where his other son’s ashes had been scattered.

Stan was a member of the Pleasant Hill Christian Church in Fairport, Missouri. He was a 1970 graduate of Maysville (MO) High School. He proudly served as a Marine during the Vietnam War. Following his service, he was an owner/operator of semi-trucks hauling refrigerated cargo and grains and was later a crew supervisor of J.D. Cahill paper lamination company in Centralia, Illinois. He especially enjoyed his daily morning breakfast visits with his many friends, spoiling his grandchildren, and the family barbeque picnics with his son.

His life represents the importance and urgency for all veterans to be properly and thoroughly screened and treated after their service and throughout their lifetimes.

He will be sadly missed by family and friends, but we know he is now with his Lord and reunited with his son.

Condolences can be made on the guestbook at the St. Louis Cremation website, www.stlouiscremation.com

So sorry to hear of Stanton’s passing. He was my best friend growing up, his laughter was infectious and we shared many memories together. He was my best man at my wedding. He will be missed but I believe he is in a better place. May God bless his family and comfort them.
    Roger
