Susan Hansard
August 1st, 1952 – March 30th, 2025
Susan Hansard passed peacefully at home on March 30th, surrounded by the love and presence of her family. She was 72 years old.
Born on August 1st, 1952, Susan lived a life grounded in love, devotion, and quiet strength. She is survived by her beloved son, Matthew, and her cherished grandchildren, Harper and Elliot, who brought immense joy to her life. Also surviving her are her dear sister, Jayne Siebert, and Jayne’s husband Gary, along with her treasured nieces Katheryn Otto, Jennifer Armbruster, Elizabeth Wendel, and Taylor Sweeney.
Susan enjoyed a long and successful career in retail, and in 1999, she proudly became a store manager for Kohl’s—a position that reflected her leadership, dedication, and work ethic. She retired in 2019, embracing the next chapter of her life with enthusiasm and grace.
In retirement, Susan found deep fulfillment in volunteering at her church in Crestwood. With her lifelong management skills and giving spirit, she was a valuable part of the community—often accompanied by her grandson Elliot, who she good-naturedly enlisted to help move “every piece of furniture twice over.”
What truly defined Susan was her passion for the people in her life. Her family and close friendships were her greatest joy, and her warmth and kindness touched all who knew her.
A visitation and service to celebrate Susan’s life will be held on Friday, May 16th, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Episcopal Church of the Advent, 9373 Garber Rd, Sappington, MO 63126. All who knew and loved Susan are welcome to join in remembering and honoring her life.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Church of the Advent at http://advent-episcopal.org/, a place that meant so much to Susan and where her legacy of service continues to shine.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her unwavering love, gentle humor, and the special way she made those around her feel valued and seen.
