Ted Watts
Ted A. Watts, formerly of Chatham, IL passed away on November 6, 2014 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, MO. Ted was born February 25, 1954 in Chicago, IL to the late Ted (Sr.) and Louise Watts.
He was the beloved father of Justin (Brittany) Watts of Chatham, IL, Ryan (Morgan) Watts of Tampa, FL, Ashley Henson of New Douglas, IL; the proud “Papa” to his grandchildren: Raegan, Avery, Addison and Sean (aka: Maynard, Bernard, George and Sue). He also leaves behind his sister, Diane Darnell of Rangeley, Maine; niece Hallie Rose; nephews, Brion and Trenton; and best friends Jamie and Vicky Andrews of Troy, IL.
Ted graduated from Southeast High School in 1972. He was dedicated to his job as the owner/operator of Watts Trucking and traveled the country on 18 wheels.
Ted was known for his joking nature, always trying to get a laugh. He enjoyed boating, cooking on the grill, baseball, football, poker, working on cars and anything outdoors; but most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.
Ted was a great person with a huge heart and he would do anything for anyone. He will be greatly missed by all.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Ted’s Life that will be held at the Lake Press Club in Springfield, IL on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014 from noon to 5:00pm.
