Thomas Jay Davis, Sr.

Thomas Jay Davis, Sr. had victory over his battle with cancer and went to be with our Heavenly Father on February 12, 2014, in Webster Groves, MO at the age of 69. Born to Phyllis A. Morton and Bruce A. Davis on October 31, 1944 in Bloomington, IN; he was the oldest of 5 children. He resided in many states throughout his life to include, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, Texas, Utah, and Missouri. He was a very savvy business man and mentor to many individuals whom he made a difference in their lives. He enjoyed the challenge of being a personal business owner in the Air Entrance Industry and built the company into a National and International Corporation. He retired at the age of 51 and decided to start up other types of businesses to include a night club, restaurants, furniture manufacturing, furniture show rooms and road side service. These businesses granted him the opportunity and life style to travel within the states and in Europe. They also gave him the opportunity to develop strong lifelong friendships with many. During his travels he most especially enjoyed playing Black Jack and Poker in Las Vegas. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing golf and sailing with friends and family. He also enjoyed watching his grandsons play football, soccer, and baseball. Thomas is survived by his loving wife Denise Marie, mother Phyllis Zell, brothers Keith and Chris Davis, half-brother David Zell, son TJ, daughter Tammy, grandchildren Kaci, Kylie, Kendall, Tyler, Tanner, and Kayden, great-granddaughter Ellie Rae, step-children Joshua, JessicaRenee, and Bryan and his devoted cat Kitty-pumpkin. Thomas is preceded in death by his Father Bruce (October 30, 1997), Brother Brucie (December 24, 1999) and Sister Debbie (January 14, 2012).

A celebration of life will take place March 8, 2014 at 11:30am at Cross Point Church, 5001 Little Rock Road, St. Louis, MO, 63128. Thomas requested no flowers or plants.
