Thomas Richard Owens
April 6, 1935 – June 18, 2024
Tom was born on Saturday, April 6, 1935 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to John Filmore and Mary
Ann [nee Ryan] Owens. He was the eighth of eight children: Jack, William, Charles, Frank,
Mary, Robert, and Louise.
Tom graduated from Johnstown High School in 1955. He married his high school sweetheart,
Patricia Ann Naugle on April 14, 1956 and together they began a family while living in
Johnstown, Pennsylvania. In 1964 Tom and Pat moved their family to St. Louis, Missouri.
Tom gave his life to Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1974. After many years working as a
Fitter/Welder at Combustion Engineering, Tom went to Bible college and graduated in 1984.
Since that time, Tom served many churches and ministries faithfully sharing the gospel in word
and deed wherever God called him. His life of service has been a blessing to countless people in
need of an encouraging word or an act of kindness.
After Pat’s passing, Tom married Kathy Jordan on November 6, 2021. Tom and Kathy enjoyed
some traveling, church activities, tutoring elementary kids, and countless family gatherings.
Their marriage was a blessing to the whole family and brought Tom much happiness these last
few years.
Thomas Richard Owens was 89 when he passed into eternity to be with his Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ on June 18, 2024. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Kathy (Jordan) Owens.
Tom’s most prized possession other than his faith was his family and his legacy will live on
through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He is survived by his children:
Michael Owens, Dennis (Michele) Owens, Kathleen (Don) Renaud, Keith (Robin) Owens,
Kenneth (Cindy Morris) Owens Sr., Karen (Jeff) Scheibe. Grandchildren: Ian Owens, Josie
Glass, Erin (Tim) Ashley, (Courtney) Renaud, Jessica (Bryan) Kassing, Christine (Isaac) Ruth,
Rebecca (Garrett) Fitch, Elizabeth Renaud, Danielle Renaud, Sarah (Zach) Evans, Nicholas
(Amanda) Owens, Matthew Owens, Ken (Amber) Owens Jr., Krystal (Jeff) Anderson, Kara
Owens, Victoria Scheibe, Isabelle Scheibe, Caleb Scheibe, Emma Scheibe. Great-grandchildren:
Alyssa Glass, Joan Ashley, Adam Ashley, Ethan Renaud, Louis Renaud, Jonathan M. Renaud,
Kyle Kassing, Kaylie Kassing, Caleb Kassing, Kenzie Kassing, Hudson Fitch, Layton Fitch,
Graham Fitch, Zoey Evans, Norah Evans, Gracen Owens, Trenton Owens, Tatum Owens,
Theodore Owens, Tucker Owens, Riley Stiens, Kiley Stiens. Brother: Robert Owens of
Hopewell, Virginia, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his
parents, six siblings, first wife Patricia Owens, and grandchildren Dylan Owens and Jonathan D.
Renaud.

Uncle Tom was a very special person and always seem so happy. It has been a very long time since I saw him as we live in different parts of the country, but I remember times we had together with family. Rest in peace and enjoy your wings that you have earned. Your Neice Janet
Being around Uncle Tommy for even a short time, it was obvious he loved family. He thought the world of my Dad, Robert and checked on him often. That meant a lot to us. We will miss him. I truly am thankful for the great testimony of Christ he always shared.
I will be praying for family and friends, especially Kathy.
Uncle Tom you will be missed so much. I was a very lucky girl to have you as my Uncle. You will be sorely missed but, God has you now. Til we meet again. I love you.
Tom was a kind and gentle man. Always enjoyed talking to him at the family reunions when I was a youngster. He gave me some of his welding gear when I was beginning my welding trade. Always smiling and enjoying family. Prayers for the family! They don’t make men like him anymore.
