Thomas “Tom” Lynn Seel
Thomas “Tom” Lynn Seel, 56, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him deeply and a legacy built on hard work, laughter, and making memories with the people he loved.
Born on January 18, 1970, in St. Louis, Missouri, Tom was a beloved father, grandfather, fiancé, son, uncle, nephew, cousin, brother and friend to many whose quiet strength and genuine nature left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
Tom is survived by his two children, Kristina (Todd) Mitchell of High Ridge; Daniel (Bryanna) Seel of Festus; his fiancé, Teresa Atchison of Barnhart and her children Jessica (TJ) Greenlee of Imperial, Kaylyn Prewett of Edwardsville, IL, and Jeremy Atchison of Pevely; seven grandchildren, Levi and Wesley Seel of Festus; Adalynn and Jaxon Mitchell of High Ridge; Landon and Cameron Greenlee of Imperial; Vayda Prewett of Edwardsville, IL; and one sibling, Rhonda Faulkner of St. Louis. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold (Donna) Seel and his mother, Kathleen (Gerald) Thornburgh (née Postlewait).
Tom was a hardworking man of integrity, a provider, and the ultimate protector of those he loved. He dedicated more than 30 years to the Metropolitan Sewer District, where he worked as a Foreman and earned the respect of those around him as both a leader and mentor. He accepted people exactly as they were, never passing judgment, and treated everyone he met with respect.
He found joy in the simple things that mattered most – fishing, spending time with his family and friends, playing his guitar, listening to music, working on RC cars, and working toward building a lake at the family property for his grandchildren to enjoy for years to come. That dream reflected the kind of man Tom was: always thinking about the people he loved and the legacy he hoped to leave behind. He had a gift for connection and a humor that stayed with people long after the moment had passed.
We invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 6th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at South Side Church of God located at 12145 Tesson Ferry Rd. St. Louis, MO 63128.

I could not have asked for a better neighbor. Tom was also my friend and just a good man all around. The backyard won’t be the same without you brother.
My family has known Tom and his family since our kids went to grade school together. My son Alan and Tom were best friends. We are deeply saddened by Tom’s unexpected passing.
