Timothy Michael Painter
Timothy Michael Painter transitioned peacefully into the hands of God on June 13, 2017 in the care of BJC Hospice in St. Louis. Tim’s last days were spent peacefully and filled with love in the company of family members and dear friends.
Tim was born in Sioux City, Iowa on July 18, 1961, but spent the majority of his life in St. Louis, Missouri. He is preceded in death by his father Harold Roy Painter and his brother Todd Mark Painter.
Tim is survived by many loving relatives and friends. He leaves behind and will be forever missed by his partner of nearly 22 years Robert Schoening, his mother Sandra Bousquet-Gamble and her husband Tom Gamble, his aunt Mary Jo Carney and her partner Carol Abernathy, and his “second Mom” Mary Ann Mannia. He will also be missed by many cousins, nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
Tim was a kind, generous, and loving soul whose compassion and caring influenced all who knew him. His quick wit and humorous demeanor enriched the lives of those around him, and his caring and selflessness are enduring characteristics that will live in the hearts and minds of those he left behind. Tim faced numerous physical challenges in life that he confronted with a strength, courage, and dignity that was truly inspirational.
Tim’s many passions included his dear family and friends, his various forms of artistic expression, his desire for equality and understanding for everyone, his dogs, and his love of life. Tim had numerous creative talents and his paintings, jewelry, and other artistic endeavors will be cherished reminders of him.
We will miss Tim terribly, but he will be forever in our hearts. And though our lives will never be the same, Heaven is surely a more beautiful and happy place with his presence.

Tim Painter changed my life profoundly on so many levels and his positive influence on me is still so obvious in so many ways. His joie de vivre and passion for living gave me the strength and confidence to embrace life with an attitude that I am so thankful for. He was my husband and stepfather to my two daughters for 8 years in the late 80’s early 90’s and my time with him was full of so many wonderous adventures. My deepest condolences to his partner Bob, beautiful mother Sandy, aunt Mary Jo and “second mom” Mary Ann. I love you all and thank you for the time with your amazing son, Tim Painter. He will live forever in my heart. Bless you.
My prayers are with Bob and Tim’s family. I hope that your memories help in this difficult time.
We are sorry for the lost of a love one. We met Tim though Bob. I (Lois) worked with Bob at the Milk Market office in Lenexa, KS. Tim always had a smile on his face when I would meet up with him at various office events. God bless and may the angels watch over you all.
Bob & Tim’s Family;
Harold and I were both saddened to hear of Tim’s passing. He was always fun to be around. A caring guy who will be missed by all.
