Todd Alan Hendrix of St. Louis, MO passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2022 at the young age of 50. Todd was born on October 28, 1971 to the late Dave and Aleen Hendrix of Oakville.

Dear brother of Geri (Mark) Hirsch and Steven (Jenifer) Hendrix, Dear uncle to David Hendrix. Loving nephew of Carol (Jim) Lepper, Joan (Roy) Lemley, Charlotte (Jon) Harris, the late Ronald Metz, Rosalie Stelmach and Jimmie (Lela) Hendrix. Beloved great-grandson of the late Emil (Tillie) Benack and grandson of the late Albert (Geraldine) Struckel, Esther Struckel and Ireland Miller. Dear cousin, brother-in-law and friend to many.

He loved and cherished his family, friends and his beloved dog Buddy. He graduated from Oakville High School, Class of 1990. He grew up playing soccer and baseball and was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed attending games and following his favorite teams including the St. Louis Cardinals, the St. Louis Blues and the Mizzou Tigers. He was steadfast in his support of our local sports teams over the years yet admittedly couldn’t bring himself to follow the St. Louis Rams once they departed St. Louis!

From a young age he formed a deep appreciation for music and enjoyed attending live concerts and performances. He was a loyal follower of classic rock music, especially the Grateful Dead, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and Jackson Browne. He was often seen sporting his favorite wearables collected over the years from the numerous sporting events and concerts he attended.

He was a trivia aficionado and rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy. Over the years we came to realize that he knew most of the answers before the contestants buzzed in and as hard as we tried, we could never beat him in a game of Trivial Pursuit. His ability to retain facts and knowledge on such a vast number of topics and genres was uncanny.

He had a passion for cooking, barbecuing and baking and thoroughly enjoyed working in the restaurant Industry.

He never, ever met a stranger and had a keen knack for striking up a conversation with anyone he interacted with. He was a smart, caring, friendly, all-around likeable guy who had a magical, quick wit about him and never took himself too seriously. He will be greatly missed and his humble and simple approach to life will live on within each of us.

There will be no service at this time but a Celebration of Life is being planned for later this spring at St. Paul’s UCC in Oakville

In lieu of flowers, donations in Todd’s memory to St. Paul’s UCC would be greatly appreciated.
These donations will help develop an outreach/communication initiative emphasizing the importance of managing Diabetes at all ages as well as supporting his “passion for pups”, something that was also near and dear to his parents and family.
