Vicki Lynn Frigerio (Nava)

Vicki Lynn Frigerio (Nava) embarked upon her greatest adventure yet in the afternoon of June 8, 2025. She was 72.

Vicki was born on April 17, 1953 to John Nava and his wife Alice (Siwik). She graduated from Northwest High School in Cedar Hill, MO, before marrying Joseph “Joe” Frigerio on May 5, 1973. She attended Webster University in Saint Louis for her nursing degree, providing a great example for generations of women in her family, as she did so while working part-time and raising her young children. For decades she was a nurse, specializing in oncology treatment and research, and though she retired from full-time work with SSM Health in 2019, she continued to contribute to nursing education at Saint Louis University until 2024. Vicki loved to travel, and some of her favorite places to visit (and meet new friends) included England, France, and Italy.

Vicki was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe, as well as her parents. She is survived by her sisters Carole Spuhl (Art) and Doreen Nava. She is also survived by her three children, Aaron Frigerio (Melissa), Jason Frigerio (Sarah), and Cara Frigerio-Davis (Christopher Davis), as well as by six grandchildren: Devin Smith (Jessica), Katie Frigerio, Anthony Smith-Frigerio, Allison Frigerio, Haley Frigerio, and Charlotte Davis. Finally, she is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and close lifelong friends.

A celebration of life will take place on July 26, 2025. Family and close family friends will gather to share food, the good wine Joe and Vicki were saving for a special occasion (wrapped in the
white paper!), and many memories. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Vicki’s name be sent to the Saint Louis Nurse Honor Guard or the wonderful folks at the SSM Hospice and Health at Home, who played a vital role to Vicki and her family in her final days.

    Vicki,
It’s your cousin Denise. I know we have not communicated for over thirteen years. I just wanted you to know that I thought of you all the time! There was no one on earth that could cook and entertain like you!!! Everything you ever made was absolutely delicious! Eddie and Chris just loved coming to your house on Thanksgiving! My deepest sympathy to your sisters, children, and grandchildren. They have
precious memories that you have left them!

Ahh Vicki, my partner in crime, best buddy and dearest friend. We laughed together ( a lot) cried together and solved the world’s problems many times over. I loved hearing your stories of family, travel and work and your honest take on people we met, places we saw and the latest edits from SSM. Your ability as a chef was unmatched you made me try to be more daring in the kitchen knowing I could never match you. Goodbye my dear friend. Wait for me. Still working on the list of people we will haunt.

Vicki, so often I think of your deadpan humor and wisecracks. I was looking up your address for my Xmas card list updates and found that you are not across town but gone! Last time we visited, Joe was still alive. You two lived it up and showed how to share the joy. You were so glad you took that Italian cooking trip when you did. You were right! I wish your family peace, love, and laughter. I am sure you have given them a lifetime of zingers to keep them on the howling.
