William “Bill” A. Bandle, Sr.
William A. Bandle, Sr., lovingly known as “Big Bill” by many, peacefully passed on Monday, October 23, 2017 at the age of 94.
Bill was the beloved husband of the late Mary Patricia (Buechele) Bandle. He is survived by sons William A. Jr. (Debbie), Keith (Sheri), Scott, Bruce, Jeff (Cris); granddaughters Lauren, Carolyn, Katie, Bailey (Faheem) Bandle-Sayed.
Bill grew up in St. Louis, graduated from St. Louis University and retired after many years of employment from Maritz Inc. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, and served actively during World War II.
Like his wife previously, Bill donated his body to St. Louis University medical research and education. A celebration of life is being planned for a future date.
I remember Bill, Sr. and his son, Bill, Jr. Both Bill, Sr. and his wife were very kind and I recall fondly many a summer afternoon collecting butterflies with Bill, Jr. The family were close neighbors to my family in south St. Louis. My sympathies to the family on the loss of their patriarch. You were truly blessed to have had him for so long.
