William (Bill) Forest Hardin
William (Bill) Forest Hardin, 74, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025. He was born June 26, 1951, in Owensboro, KY, to Thomas and June (Caruso) Hardin.
Bill graduated from Normandy High School in 1971 and went on to a varied career. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, later worked in construction and as a cab driver, and ultimately discovered his true calling in “retirement” as an usher with St. Louis City SC, the St. Louis Blues, and the St. Louis Cardinals. Known for his warm smile and quick wit, Bill loved welcoming fans and creating memorable experiences for others.
Bill’s careers didn’t make him wealthy, but his generosity was endless. He never hesitated to give, whether it meant emptying his pockets, lending his time, or simply showing up for someone in need. From neighbors and friends to family and even strangers, he believed in helping wherever he could. He passed that lesson on to his sons and grandsons, reminding them that there is always someone who needs it more than you.
In 1982, Bill married Elizabeth (Betty) Hardin. Though divorced since 1989, they remained lifelong companions and were rarely apart.
Above all, Bill’s greatest joy was his family. He was a proud and supportive father and grandfather, a constant presence at his sons’ and grandsons’ baseball, football, wrestling, and hockey games. Whether coaching, keeping score, or cheering from the stands, Bill lived for those moments.
Bill will be remembered for his big heart, his sense of humor, and the way he always showed up for the people he loved. His laughter and love will stay with everyone who knew him. His grandson Henry said it best: “I couldn’t have had a better grandpa. If I was another kid, I’d be so jealous.” Bill was loved beyond words and will be missed more than we can say.
He is survived by his former wife, Betty; sons Chris (Addie) and Patrick (Becky) Hardin; and two beloved grandsons, Henry and Jack.
All family and friends are welcome to attend a Memorial Lunch September 20, 2025 at 1:00pm at The Village at MacKenzie Place (8520 MacKenzie Road, 63123).

He was such a special person. While his passing is so saddening, knowing him enriched my life and spirit.
