William J. “Bill” Whitmore of O’Fallon, age 84, died at NHC HealthCare Maryland Heights on April 6, 2022. He was a 1955 graduate of Howland High School in Warren, Ohio. He went on to earn BS, MBA, and Ph.D. degrees, all in Business from the Ohio State University, and served in the Army Reserve with the Ohio National Guard. He was a marketing professor at several universities, including Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville where he taught for 15 years.

Bill was an avid golfer and reader. He is survived by his children Richard Whitmore and Diane Schanzenbach, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Howard and Dorothy, sister Beverly, and daughter Molly Katherine.

No funeral or memorial service is immediately planned. Donations can be made to the St. Charles City-County Library in his memory.
