Zachary Glenn Mercer 

Zachary Glenn Mercer, 35, of Saint Louis, MO, unexpectedly passed away early in his life at his home on January 27, 2024. He was a caring and loving father, husband, and son. He had a smile that would brighten up the room every time he entered.  

Zachary was born on October 9, 1988, to Debra Gibson Voss and Donald Mercer (Michelle Seper Mercer). Zachary graduated from Bayless High School in 2017, later attended the Culinary Arts Program at Saint Louis Community College/Forest Park. He had a passion for cooking and wanted to start his own food truck business. Zachary was a beautiful soul and was a kind and caring friend to all whom he knew. He created a family in 2008 when he met Christina, later they married in 2011 and remained so for the rest of his life. Together for 15 years they both raised Zach’s daughter, and they added a son to complete their family. Zachary was a very dedicated father and husband. He loved his children with everything he had and cherished his wife always. He loved being with his family every second he could be. Zach was always a family man and loved being around all family members for events and holidays. He always loved being around his good friends and having a great time. He loved watching the Blues Hockey team and enjoyed watching them with his son. Zach made so many good memories with his family. He always wanted a daughter and son, to make them happy, and give them the whole world. Zach did do all of that and more. Zach had a smile that was brighter than the sun, a personality that was bigger than the moon, and had love that would fill up the universe and more. He will be remembered as the greatest father, husband, son and grandson for many years to come. His last words to us all were “I LOVE U GUYS SO MUCH!” We will always love you so much as well Daddy, my ride or die forever… till we meet again in heaven.  

Zachary is survived by his beloved wife Christina, his sweet son Zayne and adorable daughter Mikayla. His brothers that he had fun with Grant Gibson (Tiffany) and Jake Voss. His sisters he adored Amanda and Brianna Mercer. His sweet and caring mama till the end Debra Gibson Voss. His loving and supportive dad and stepmom Donald and Michelle Mercer. His grandparents that he loved doing anything for Angie Gibson and Lawrence and Sandra Mercer.  

He was proceeded in death by his grandfather that he loved fishing with, Geroge Gibson. His cousin he laughed with Kaitlyn Boster. His cousin that he cared so much about Stacie Boster. His cousin he enjoyed camping and fishing with Matthew Gibson. His great-grandmothers he loved (Mag) Margaret Cowie, (Gam Gam) Emileen Boster and Marie Mercer.  

Family and Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Memorial Mass begins at 10 a.m. at Immculate Heart of Mary Church. Following will be a Celebration of Life from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Immculate Heart of Mary Parish Hall, both located at 4092 Blow Street, Saint Louis, MO.

    Zach definitely left an impact in this world. He had a smile and laughter that was contagious. He was an incredible friend who will be missed and loved every day.
