ZoeAnn Maass


ZoeAnn Linda (Vortmeier) Maass, originally from Dellwood, Missouri, went to the Lord peacefully on a Saturday morning, July 21st 2018, with her husband at her side. ZoeAnn was born in St. Louis on December 2nd, 1961 to Jean (Thies) and Frederic Vortmeier. ZoeAnn will be remembered by her many accomplishments. ZoeAnn was a Medical Technologist at Christian Hospital for over 25 years, retiring in 2010. She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Coordinator, and later as a youth leader. Her love of photography, animals and the outdoors led to photography awards and multiple cat adoptions.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Scott of St. Louis; daughter Brittany (Maass) Cummins and her husband Tim of St. Peters; son Jerett Maass of St. Louis; mother Jean (Thies) Vortmeier of St. Louis; Mother-In Law Jeannine (Free) Maass of St. Louis; older brother Kendall Vortmeier, his wife Nancy, and their children Nathan and Elizabeth, all of St. Louis; younger brother John Vortmeier, his wife JoEtta, and their son Jack, all of St. Louis;, sister-in-law Lisa (Maass) Stewart and her daughter Amber of O’Fallon; and multiple loving cousins.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, August 11th at Hazelwood Baptist Church, 6161 Howdershell Rd, Hazelwood, MO 63042. The service will begin at 1:00 PM with a light meal following at 2:00 PM, where samples of ZoeAnn’s photography, crafts and artwork will be displayed.

In Lieu of Flowers, contributions can be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Research.
